Who we are
The Guia de Vins de Catalunya begins a new chapter with the aim of continuing to be a reference tool for the sector, preserving what has made it relevant while incorporating a renewed, open perspective connected to the reality of wine today.
We believe in a rigorous, independent, approachable and accessible guide, capable of speaking to both the professional and the enthusiast. A guide that does not close itself off, but listens, observes and evolves alongside the sector itself.
Editorial coordination falls to Marc Subirós, who leads the Guide through content development and engagement with the sector.
This project has the support of Wine Palace, which provides structure and organisational capacity. Nevertheless, the editorial development and, in particular, the tasting process are carried out in a fully independent manner, with no employee of the company permitted to serve as a jury member, as an essential guarantee of credibility.
What is La Guia today
La Guia is a living project that aims to contribute to the knowledge, promotion and prestige of Catalan wine, highlighting its diversity, identity and the work of the wineries.
This new chapter is built on respect for the existing trajectory, but with the determination to keep evolving and incorporate new ways of understanding and explaining wine.
How do we work?
The heart of La Guia is the blind tasting, understood as the best tool to guarantee impartiality and rigour.
As the main new feature, La Guia 2027 will incorporate a double scoring system:
- On one hand, the assessment of a panel of external wine professionals, sommeliers and technical profiles.
- On the other, the perception of wine enthusiast consumers (wine lovers).
The aim is not to establish an average, but to transparently present two perspectives on the same wine, allowing an understanding of how it is perceived from different sensibilities.
The tastings are conducted in a completely anonymous manner and under a rigorous protocol, concentrated in specific sessions that ensure the consistency of the process and that will be supervised by Anna Vicens, who will oversee the proper functioning and the standard of rigour of the sessions.
What do we want to be
We want La Guia de Vins de Catalunya to be a space of trust.
A meeting point between knowledge and experience, between technique and emotion.
A guide that adds value.
That helps to understand wine without imposing it.
That is useful both for professionals and for those who approach it with curiosity.
Because we believe that Catalan wine can only grow through rigour, transparency and the combination of perspectives from all sectors, excluding no one. We all matter, we are all here to contribute, and only united will we be able to place Catalan wine where it deserves to be.
